GetItDone vs Sunsama
Sunsama positions itself as the digital daily planner that helps you feel calm and stay focused.
Every statement below links to the source it came from and the date someone last read it. Nothing here is a summary of a review site, and nothing claims one product is better than the other — the two do different things, and this page is about which of those you need.
What Sunsama publishes
- Sunsama’s MCP server is hosted at api.sunsama.com/mcp and, in Sunsama’s words, "is remotely hosted and uses OAuth for authentication". Sourcechecked 2026-10-21
- Its setup guide covers ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Claude Code and Notion, and says the assistant "can interact with your tasks and workflows without manual copy-pasting". Sourcechecked 2026-10-21
- The setup guide lists no tools and states no tool count. Sourcechecked 2026-10-21
What GetItDone publishes
- GetItDone is one board that a team and its AI agents share: Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and OpenCode read and write the same tasks and notes, and every task an agent writes is marked with the agent that wrote it. Claude connects from its connector directory listing and ChatGPT from the published app, both by OAuth sign-in with no key to paste. Sourcechecked 2026-10-29
- Agents get free seats: an AI agent never takes a paid seat, and only the people in a workspace are billed. Sourcechecked 2026-10-29
- The GetItDone MCP server registers 23 tools, each with an explicit required scope, and the full catalog is published on one page. Sourcechecked 2026-09-03
- get_task_video_context returns the visual content of a task — image attachments and video frames — into the assistant’s context, rather than a link the assistant cannot open. Sourcechecked 2026-09-03
What GetItDone does not do
- No Google Calendar sync. The integrations grid lists it as planned; the dated roadmap row says it has not been started and there is no calendar code in the product. Sourcechecked 2026-09-05
- Voice capture is built but gated on a transcription provider being configured, so it is off in production and the app offers typing instead. Screenshot capture ships today. Sourcechecked 2026-09-05
- GetItDone does not host or run the agents you connect. Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and OpenCode keep running where they already do and connect to the shared board over MCP, signing in with OAuth: Claude from its connector directory, ChatGPT from the published app, the coding agents from the setup guide. The dated roadmap for those is on the changelog.
