GetItDone vs Trello

A tool to capture, organize and tackle your to-dos from anywhere.

Every statement below links to the source it came from and the date someone last read it. Nothing here is a summary of a review site, and nothing claims one product is better than the other — the two do different things, and this page is about which of those you need.

What Trello publishes

  • Trello MCP is "a cloud-based bridge between your Trello account and compatible external AI assistants". Sourcechecked 2026-09-26
  • It "uses OAuth 2.0", and the listed apps are ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Visual Studio Code and Google Gemini CLI. Sourcechecked 2026-09-26
  • At launch each connection "supports one workspace", and "Destructive delete operations are not supported". Sourcechecked 2026-09-26
  • Viewing, uploading and downloading card attachments is listed under capabilities coming soon, and the page says "Trello MCP is actively being developed." Sourcechecked 2026-09-26

What GetItDone publishes

  • The GetItDone MCP server registers 11 tools, each with an explicit required scope, and the full catalog is published on one page. Sourcechecked 2026-09-03
  • get_task_video_context returns the visual content of a task — image attachments and video frames — into the assistant’s context, rather than a link the assistant cannot open. Sourcechecked 2026-09-03

What GetItDone does not do

  • No Google Calendar sync. The integrations grid lists it as planned; the dated roadmap row says it has not been started and there is no calendar code in the product. Sourcechecked 2026-09-05
  • Voice capture is built but gated on a transcription provider being configured, so it is off in production and the app offers typing instead. Screenshot capture ships today. Sourcechecked 2026-09-05
  • GetItDone is not listed in the consumer connector directories, so connecting an assistant means pasting the MCP server URL from the setup guide and signing in, rather than picking it from a catalog. Sourcechecked 2026-09-26

The dated roadmap for those is on the changelog.
