Screenshot to tasks: turn an image into a to-do list

Paste a screenshot of a chat message, an email or a whiteboard photo into GetItDone and it proposes one task for each action in the image, with the due date the words name (“by Friday” becomes that Friday). Nothing is created until you review the proposals: edit any of them, untick the ones you do not want, and add the rest to your board. It runs inside the GetItDone app, and a guest workspace is enough to try it.

Quick list for the week:

1. Send the signed contract to Acme tomorrow

2. Prepare the slides for Thursday's client call

3. Finish the budget review by Friday

4. Book the conference room for Monday

Thanks!

What GetItDone proposes, read on a Wednesday
  • Send the signed contract to Acme

    Due Thursday, from “tomorrow”

  • Prepare the slides for the client call

    Due Thursday, from “Thursday”

  • Finish the budget review

    Due Friday, from “by Friday”

  • Book the conference room

    Due Monday, from “Monday”

Four action lines, four proposals; the greeting and the “Thanks!” yield none. The wording of each proposal varies a little from run to run, and you can edit it before adding the task.

Try it as a guestNo account or card. Press Continue as guest, then Capture tasks on your daily board.

How to turn a screenshot into tasks

  1. Open GetItDone. Sign in, or press Continue as guest to get a workspace with no account and no card.
  2. Press Capture tasks. The button sits in the header of your daily board, beside Plan my day, and in the task list toolbar.
  3. Add the image. Paste a screenshot, drop a file, choose one, or on a phone take a photo of a whiteboard or a paper list. Large photos are scaled down in your browser before they upload.
  4. Review the proposals. Each action becomes a card with a name, a due date when the image states one, a priority and a description. Edit any field and untick the cards you do not want.
  5. Add the tasks. Press Add to create the ticked tasks on your board. Each one keeps the screenshot as an attachment, so you and any AI assistant you connect can see where it came from.

Questions

Does it create tasks without asking?
No. Capture only proposes. Every proposal is a card you can edit or untick, and tasks are created only when you press Add. If the image holds no actions, it says so instead of inventing some.
What kinds of images work?
Screenshots of chat messages, emails, tickets or documents, and photos of whiteboards, sticky notes or a paper list. You can paste, drop or choose a file, or take a photo on a phone. Large photos are scaled down in your browser before they upload.
How does it pick due dates?
From the words in the image, read against the day you capture it: “tomorrow”, a weekday such as “Friday”, or a written date. A line with no date gets no date. You can change any date before adding the task.
Is it free, and do I need an account?
No account is needed: Continue as guest gives you a workspace, and signing up later keeps everything in it. Each capture uses one AI action from your plan’s monthly allowance, which the Free plan includes; the pricing page lists how many each plan gets.
What happens to my screenshot?
It is sent to a language-model provider to read it, and kept as an attachment on the tasks you add. A screenshot you capture but do not turn into a task is deleted from storage automatically after 30 days.
Can I capture a voice note too?
Not yet. Voice capture is built but not switched on; screenshots and photos work today.
